Position: Part-Time Financial Director
Location: Based primarily in Cork, Ireland with travel to other locations and flexibility to work from home regularly.

We are a dynamic small to medium-sized business operating in the international education sector, committed to delivering exceptional value to our clients. We are seeking a seasoned Financial Director to join our team and support our growth strategy through expert financial management.
Position Overview:
The Part-Time Financial Director will play a critical role in overseeing the company’s financial operations, developing a robust financial model, and managing a small, efficient accounts team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, particularly within the international education or related industry, and will report directly to the company owners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial aspects of the business, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Develop and implement a robust financial model to support the company’s 3 year growth plan.
- Manage and mentor a small team within the accounts department, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, ensuring timely and accurate presentation of financial performance to the owners.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal financial policies.
- Conduct financial analysis to inform strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that drive performance and profitability.
- Identify areas for cost control and revenue enhancement, providing actionable recommendations to the owners.
- Work with external accountants to plan for international and domestic tax strategy to improve efficiency
The Candidate
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial director or senior finance role, preferably in the education or hospitality sectors.
- Proven experience managing finances for small to medium-sized businesses.
- Strong understanding of financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent leadership skills with experience managing a finance team.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisational skills
- Relevant financial qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is preferred.
